The image is a global map of the western hemisphere. The word above the image is "DOUGLAS." I cannot read the words under the globe image, but I'll bet they read "FIRST AROUND THE WORLD" (reference to the 1924 around-the-world flight of three U.S. Army Douglas World Cruiser aircraft) and that it is a variation of this 1930s Douglas logo: https://airandspace.si.edu/collectio...as-aircraft-co

I built Geli's Martinair (Dutch) DC-3 in 1/33 scale some years ago. it still hangs in my office and gets lots of oohs an ahs at IPMS meets. It is big with a wingspan just under three feet. I think it's one of Geli's nicest kits. And Fly-Model used to have a c-47 in D-Day markings. I scanned it and redid the markings to match my father's bird. Haven't built it yet.
