Everything looks fantastic! For those who were commenting on the balsa issue, I would try finding some with end grain instead of face grain.

Thanks, Aleem and Don...

Just a tiny update since I'm pretty excited it all worked. I got the other side on pretty easily (much more so than the other side) and the front top panels fit near perfectly. Super nice...

Now the daunting task of getting the rest of the top on since I'm not sure now to make it form correctly. Perhaps some tiny slices along the spine since it needs to be both curved around the formers and have a bowed spine...

I may need to practice on another piece of scrap!

Cheers,
Dan

Got her done! It did turn out that the little lines in the deck were meant to be cut and it turned out much nicer than I expected. I really thought those cut relief lines would look dumb, but they are not too bad. Still needs some burnishing and touch up, but overall the fuselage is almost done!!

Cheers,
Dan

Thanks again, Guys...I think I've got quite a bit done today!

I got the tails on (no struts yet) and finished the cockpit edging as well as the head rest. I re-positioned the tails to match my stick and rudder bar. Tomorrow I hope to start the cowling (there are two variants in how to fold it) and maybe get some wings started as well.

Really coming along now. I think the last really hard parts will be folding the cowl to make it look nice and the upper wing cockpit cut outs which include a bunch of tiny slices where you need to fold things just so. We'll see how that goes!

Cheers,
Dan

All,

Here are some shots of the rigged tails and struts attached.

I'll concentrate on the cowling now...we'll see how she goes!

Cheers,
Dan

All,

I'm a bit gun-shy of the cowling, so I decided to start on the wings. Bottoms first!

First shot is of the internal structure which is simple but lends great strength and rigidity to the paper skins. No wavy trailing edges and at a pretty dang scale thickness too!

Here the innards are glued into the bottom wing skins...

And here they are done and just placed about where they will go.

Pretty darn cool. I may start the top wings tomorrow.

Cheers,
Dan

Hello!
Dan, I'm watching your work. What you've done looks perfectly. I can`t wait to finish. This will be the first class!

Best regards.
