@ Yoav – My “Mk.I Autofocus” no longer works properly and I need glasses to see at close range. At longer range, for the moment, I keep a very good sight. I hope it will last…
@ Erik – I have seen “worse”, both on Halinski and other stable’s kits. The parts are still manageable, even if I had to delaminate some of them in order to achieve the desire curvature. Today’s second picture shows those small assemblies applied to the cylinder heads. Your guess was good Halinski sticks to the “3 part” cylinder head. In my view, (solidly based on a GPM kit) the same shape could be modelled in a single part. The number of joints would be smaller and the assembly would take less effort. In this case, with gloss paper, the assembly is complicated because the white glue I use for these small parts is much less effective. |

The engine is complete. For a change, the rods of the rear cylinder disc start behind the cowling support.

The engine looks splendid, Ricardo.
I appreciate your close-up images of the parts and your narrative of the assembly process, as well as your assessment of this particular design. Don |

Great job on the engine with its many tiny parts Ricardo.

Thanks for the comments, friends
@ Don – as my camera isn’t able to focus at very close range, the close-up images are invariably taken from a greater distance, at the highest resolution. Then, I take the interesting part and scale it to fit the 640x480 format. Glad to know that the this work is appreciated The wing structure on Halinski kits is often a good incentive to “invest” on laser cut parts. Well, as long as the problem is extra work, and not “impossible” work, I keep resisting… |

@ Don - Halinski never spares on the wing structure
The landing gear wells are tricky to assemble. Apart from the rounded top, there are features that remove continuity to the main parts. I felt the need to add some gluing tabs, visible on the first picture. The gear legs were fixed to the structure using the usual method – the same wire serves as the wheel axle and the gear leg reinforcement. It extends inside the wing and is fixed solidly to the structure. |
