Bf-109 E-1 Marek 1/33rd Scale: DONE!

All,

I just finished this one off tonight. I did some detail additions like the antenna wires, canopy stay and used an old 1/32nd Hasagawa 109 canopy as a vacform pattern. I also added cowling guns from the same...I forgot to make them from the Marek kit...and topped off the interior with a tiny clear piece for the site. Finally, since I really enjoy airbrushing plastic models, I did some basic weathering of Marek's print job adding exhaust stains, some field debris, oil stains and control surfaces highlighting as well as gun and wheel stains. I also added a tiny bit of chipping with a silver colored pencil. There are still some wonky parts on there but I must say it's a pretty model and I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together. You can search Youtube for my incredibly produced videos outlining its creation (if you are super bored and can handle some out of focus shots of my fingers). If you haven't built a Marek model, go out and do so! On to the pictures...

Thanks for looking,
Dan

Excellent build! The additional weathering, while subtle, adds a lot.

Dan, outstanding build you have created! Congratulations with this result. The aerial detail in the first two pictures is great too!

Excellent build !
I love all the little details added, also good job with the weathering, that's the only thing Marek's kit lacks a bit.
I'm happy to see that the paper reacted nicely with the airbursh.
Best regards,
Ronan
