Cool Nose section

The nose section is next. It consists of the external skins as well as the inlet air splitter which also houses the nose gear.

First the nose sections outer skins

Now the gear housing

Then attach more sections. Shown here before the installation of the splitter/housing

I added some nose weights to make sure it is not a tail sitter

and cover it up

cut out the gunports

get the parts ready

I only glued the bottom of the splitter housing. This allows for a better final fit.

And this is what the nose looks like now.

Yoav

Did you know that the French had the F-84F stationed in Israel during the Suez war and that it had the star of David markings?

Even though it was not an IAF aircraft, it is nevertheless interesting.

Isaac, you seem to prefer to cut the holes after the part is already in 3D. I find it easier to do it before forming the part and accept the extra difficulty of forming a more fragile part...

Very nice work, as always Isaac. Thanks for the tidbit about the French F-84's.

Question Cockpit

Here is the cockpit tub and dashboard
F-84F Thunderstreak- Hobby Model 1:33 scale-img_5364.jpgF-84F Thunderstreak- Hobby Model 1:33 scale-img_5365.jpg

At this point the dashboard is not glued to the tub
F-84F Thunderstreak- Hobby Model 1:33 scale-img_5366.jpgF-84F Thunderstreak- Hobby Model 1:33 scale-img_5368.jpgF-84F Thunderstreak- Hobby Model 1:33 scale-img_5370.jpg

glue it to the cockpit opening to get exact position.
F-84F Thunderstreak- Hobby Model 1:33 scale-img_5371.jpg

Your next dilemma is : Do I glue the cockpit in place and then join the fuselage half or do I join the fuselage sections and then slip in the cockpit?

Stay tuned.

Isaac
