The back part, behind the cockpit and later on, should be more round.
I think you did the same thing in one of my French models...This is a second mistake...for the third time you will owe me ice cream.

in another matter....
You know that in about an hour, Chris from Germany is supposed to come to a Model Builders meeting with some of my friends in my house.

take care my friend.

My error is that I used flat clear plastic for the rear windows and it just does not want to bend to a round position. I recognized it as I built that part. Really needs to be vacuformed curved windows. I will try to brace it a bit from the inside if I can.

I will be more than happy to by you Ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yes, have a great time with your guest Chris. I'm sure you will all have a great time.

Nice international visits.

Wow...that thing is so sleek. I really like the bulge on the bottom too. Well shaped! I have a new appreciation for getting that type of thing right...

I really like the colors too. That blue is amazing.

I would check on the rank designation, that may be wrong but I am not sure because of the period the airplane was flown. If it were current the designation would be LTC as the services designations are all three spaces, ie, 2LT, 1LT, CPT, MAJ, LTC, COL. It may be different for the Air Force, Don will probably know.

Closing the fuselage after or before inserting the cockpit was a hard choice. I went the other way...

I experienced trouble with the plastic canopy and had to make minor adjustments to the frames. If you intend to leave the canopy in the open position, there should be no problem.

Ricardo

I dry fit it first to see if the cockpit tub can fit after the fuselage joint. It was OK. That is why I decided to slip it in after the joining because I like a tight fit to the fuselage.

It was easy after that.

Some designs have a stiff cockpit tub and would not let let you do it.

Cool Canopy

I decided to keep the canopy open, so basically after the frames are glued on I will separate the windshield from the canopy.

Here are the parts
F-84F Thunderstreak- Hobby Model 1:33 scale-img_5419.jpg

and glued on the vacuformed clear plastic
F-84F Thunderstreak- Hobby Model 1:33 scale-img_5420.jpg

and separated

Inside of the frames, and add the canopy arches.

add the gun sight reflector
F-84F Thunderstreak- Hobby Model 1:33 scale-img_5425.jpg

glue the windshield into position ( I used the canopy to correctly place it )

fun with the canopy ( it is not in the proper position yet ).

Nice work on not just the canopy, but the entire model.
