Boeing P-26A Peashooter

Hi folks. This is my first post here. I present my Boeing P-26A Peashooter, 34th Pursuit Squadron. This plane hangs in the National Air & Space Museum Udvar-Hazy Center

This was built from a kit purchased from Paper Models International, many years ago. The design is by Digital Navy; I'm not sure if the digital download they are currently selling is the same.

This is only the second plane I've built, and I'm still working on my techniques (I'm still having problems working with small parts, cutting concave curves on thick pieces, and fixing coloring issues). But I was able to correct a number of problems with this kit, including fabricating the prop hub, which was completely missing. Overall I'm pretty happy with it, and will start working on more complex models.

Here are some build progress pictures.

My next project will probably be a Flying Tigers P-40 that I bought from ecardmodels.

I love this plane. It was the earliest plane model I remember building as a kid, in plastic, way back in the mid 70s with my dad. (Along with a scilon fighter from Battle Star Galactica and a 1/200 scale motorized model of the Bismark!) Not sure if my Dad meant to or not, but he got me going on model building!

So I have always liked this plane and you have done a great build! Thanks for sharing!
