Douglas World Cruiser?

Has anyone run across a paper model of the Douglas World Cruiser? Five were built for US Army, for the first round-the-world flight, completed in 1924--in 175 days!

It was huge biplane and would make an impressive model at 1/33 scale.

No worrries,

Still looking. Any designers out there who would take a crack at it?

Well, if somebody can get me a good 3-view, I'll give it a crack.

I found these online. I'll check the Boeing Library at the EAA Museum early next week to see what they might have.

This is a wonderfully historic airplane. One of the World Cruisers is (or was) at the Air Force Museum in Dayton.

The airframe was similar to the Douglas DT torpedo bomber. Douglas DT - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'd love to see this one designed as a paper model.

I got to see one of the World Cruisers at the Santa Monica Museum of Flying, 13 years ago, when they were celebrating the 75th anniversary. Got to meet Donald Douglas Jr., too.

I can remember doing a couple of those Williams kits for a commission years ago.. nice kits, and still might have one stashed somewhere if I haven't given it away .. A paper one would be ideal.
Like Phil, I remember seeing the one at the museum in Santa Monica.. They just reopen it a while back, though I'm not sure if Douglas has anything more to do with it. It's only a couple of miles up the street, so one of this days I'll go and check out what they have on display..

O.k., David,
this airplane of his own,
he, vaguely, has the form of a sow,
is very uncouth

However,
it seems very easy to develop

especially,
if one is satisfied with the scale 1/48

if agreed with this premise,
I could take this commitment.. David
