Kawasaki Ki-61 - Halinski - 1/33

So here we go, my first paper model. I choose Halinski's Ki-61 as I liked the subject and allthough it was rated as a difficult model I read a lot of positive reviews on the quality of the kits they make.

I'm still struggeling a bit to get used to the medium, but untill now no big disasters and I'm having a lot of fun building this. I got the lasercut frame package and I'm glad I did. I can imagine that cutting thick cardboard precisely can be a big challenge.

Some pics of my progress to date.

That's a very good start. Looks promising.
And the best of all is you're having fun.

Will follow your build. It sure will be a nice model.

looks fantastic...

for a first model in this medium it looks like a pro...
i think its a good idea to start with a laser cut former's set , saves a lot of cutting and ensurers accuracy .
will defiantly follow this one.

That is beautiful work you have done on the cockpit. That is the good news. The bad news is that it will be all covered up when you build the model and most will not be seen. Hopefully you will keep the canopy open so the details would be visible a bit more.

Looking for more of your fantastic progress.

Great start on a very promising model! I guess that you are assembling the 2014 kit, right?

Another outstanding model of a Japanese WWII fighter under construction.

Bravo!
