I also have found round magnets, with internal thread, that can be fitted on a threaded rod. This is the way I consider making the display stand.

I place a metal washer in the fuselage and 2 magnets in the stand. That results in a stronger hold and prevents the aircraft from rotating on the stand. I’m always happy to see a Yoav model being built.

Watching your thread I hopoe the solution with the magnets will work. I tried this on my Kfir but it turned out that the model was a bit to heavy for the magnets I used.
You're off to a good start so far. The mystere is on my build list too

A short progress report. The fuselage sections have been glued together. It was fairly easy to do, the sections match very tightly.

Now, don't get me wrong with the following comment, it's a compliment about Yoav's model. The lines of rivets and the weathering of the model are so good that the joints between the sections are more noticeable than on my other models. I use 160g/sqm paper and X-Acto cutters but clearly my technical skill must be improved to be on a par with the quality of Yoav's model ...

Next step, vacuum forming of the canopy. For the first time in my modeller life, I have got an acceptable canopy at first attempt. Along with the “old fashion” template (or vacuum box) I use a hot air gun and the vacuum box is connected to a vacuum cleaner (operated by my wife when she is given the “Go”). Pasting the frame parts on the canopy has been fairly easy, which demonstrates these parts have been perfectly designed by Yoav. Usually the parts of the frame do not match so well (too long, too short, too wide, too narrow …). Installing the canopy on the fuselage has been a piece of cake using neopren glue.

I have found out on a Website an image of the real Zoulou-Juliet of the 12e Escadre. One can notice small differences regarding the color of the canopy frame and of the fuselage bump. The model shows them in light grey, whereas on the real plane they are “olive drab”. Possibly the model shows
ZF after a maintenance or replacement of the canopy, before the frame is repainted … a guess.

Hi Yoav,

I wanted to drop you a short PM but, failing to attach an image to a PM, I pass you on my question through this thread.

As you noticed, I have completed and installed the canopy on the SM B-2. Now, I am about to install the wings but, prior doing it, I need a clarification on the leading edge and more exactly about the parts 15B and 16B. I have attached an image of these parts on a real SM B-2g and added an arrow to show what puzzles me. Question: how did you close the tip of of these parts? Bending 15B and 16B is fine but there remains a void. Do you squeeze and glue the tip of 15 and 16B ? If so, what about the airfoil section of these parts ? Or did you close these parts with a scrap of paper? I have not seen specific parts for this purpose in the file of the SM B-2.
