Crusader! If this doesn't make you want to build an F8U nothing will!

OOH YEAH. Reckon anyone would notice if I snuck an F-8 into my 'tween the wars USN thread?

Well; some Crusaders had yellow wings and dark blue (grey?)fuselages. Fits the period, right? They were drone controllers.

Quad Dshk machine gun? One of those is insanely loud, being near four of them being fired is just insane.
That reminds me-I have Cuban Mig-17 model somewhere |

Those RF-8 are A) mock-ups, B) models and C) CGI, right? There's no flying example, right? Very nice scene though! Loved the "smile, you're on candid camera".

I'm thinking mock-ups.Notice there is not a single frame showing entire plane rolling.Likely bunch of statics and two on driven platform (bit like parade float).
I build toy like that out of wood in form of 2 engine bomber.Had 4 wheels and all-kid was ecstatic. |

It is Hollywood! Only .00000001% of us even know it was an F8U!

Since that sequence was apparently shot at Clark AFB, maybe that line up with gun carrying F-8s at the beginning are actually repainted Philippine F-8P (ex-F-8H, born as F-8D). And looking through my saved Crusader pics, I do find pictures of ex Phil AF Crusaders with the "stars-in-stripes" of VFP-62.

Apparently, there's a case of a "Photo Gator" pilot taking off and flying with the wings still folded:
