I left the end of the part you marked with a red arrow open.....And I mean the edge of part number 15B/16B

But the inside of him, I painted in black, so I got an effect that the open part is closed.

Hi PICARDIE,
The picture you have found is of late scme of the plane:
Small rundles, without the French flag on the tail and a different shade of color at the Camouflage.
As far as I know, only this plane had a gray tint at the base of the wings and next to the cockpit.

I attach a photo to his first scheme Next to the picture you brought.

And besides, your model comes out pretty!

Bonjour Yaron,

Thanks a lot for your input. There is no doubt that a plane can exhibit various liveries in its lifetime. So, depending on the time the image is captured, one can observe small or more noticeable differences. I have attached an image of a SM B-2 that has a cockpit frame and a bump with the same grey color as on your model, but for the rest of the camo … it's significantly different !

How about a SM B-2 in a Tiger Meet livery?

Cheers.

Hi Yoav and Yaron,

The model is 80% completed. Only the auxiliary tanks and the small details (aerials, pitot tubes) are missing and will be added when the display stand is built. The magnet(s) I intend to use have been ordered (*) and I am currently thinking about the most suitable shape and material (iron or aluminum rod or pipe, wood, plastic, …?) for the stand.
Overall, the model design and camo rendition are great. To me this is a flashback to the late 70's, when I worked in a radar station (Lucheux – North of France) that controlled the planes of the 12e Air Wing based at Cambrai-Epinoy (very close to Lucheux). Quite often we had the opportunity to visit the Cambrai AFB and its SM B-2. I'm pretty sure that I have seen “live” the real 12-ZJ.
Considering the model, three details are missing : the growing wistle of the ATAR engine starting, the sweet smell of burnt jet fuel and the roaring of the SM-B2 taking off. I watch the model, close my eyes and imagine … I am 40 years younger !

Again, thank you Yoav and Yaron for this great model and the happy memories it brings back.

The model looks great my friend.

A little more and you're done ... so go to work.

Of course I'm glad that the model brings you memories and nostalgia ..... If that's so, then I did mine.

take care

Nice choice of aircraft PICARDIE.

I tried using the magnet thing myself on one of my 'flying model' builds. Be warned- build in a spacer (the bigger the magnets the bigger the spacer required) if you're using the rare earth magnets- they are REALLY strong. On larger models built from thicker card probably ok, but on my small builds the first time I tried to remove model from stand, the inner magnet started to rip straight out through the underside.
