1/33 spad xiii – lt. Jacques m swaab

Hi
I recently purchased this model designed by Luis P. Igualada at ecardmodels.com immediately printed on 120 g paper and then the paper was treated with acrylic lacquer. I could not help myself and now after a few days I have reached this stage.

Despite the escalating Ecardmodels prices (including a "site fee"??), I purchased the same model to complement Mr. Igualada's earlier SPAD and Albatros DV. Both of those are outstanding models, and I hope we see more from him ... sooner than later!!

Great progress, asaf - looking forward to the rest of your build!

asaf,

Looks like a start to a good looking model. I've always strayed from biplane builds....one day I may try one....rigging...scary for me.

Gene,

The prices are far from escalating. But it is a small fee to help Chris actually operate the website which he basically does not make a profit from to keep our hobby alive. Remember, there are costs associated with running an online website such as hosting fee, bandwith/isp fees and of course, paying the designer their cut of each sale. Not to mention the actual law that passed that requires all online retailers to collect taxes for sales conducted on a website. Although Chris reluctantly put a 0.25 fee on each model to support the website store, it's not much.....but as Chris has said in the past, he wishes he didn't need to put that 0.25 charge on there.
