Well done, Willem!
I am always glad to see one of Gerard's beautifully-designed models being built successfully (some day, I will complete some of my Gerard works-in-progress, but for now enjoy seeing others build his airplanes). The wheel well misalignment is unfortunate, but not a show stopper - and anyway, it will be underneath! Your craftsmanship is first rate. Don |

Messerschmidt-Me-262 "Schwalbe"
CONSTRUCTION - Part 4.
And the build is continued with the cockpit and enginebays. No exciting aspects here, again a few cones and tubes glued together. Some bad news is in the coloring: the middelpart has a darker green-grey color. Should be the light bleu-ish alike the underside of the wing. Finally they are fixed on the indicated places there. The cockpitparts are glued together into one item. The indicated place on top of the body shows some mis-alignments... But by setting the cockpit on it it covered this 'mistake' completely. The landinggears are the last parts. Again no problems: wheels are some cardboard-discs and the struts are rolled paper around a piece of a paperclip. A classic! And then the "beast" can stand upright. This completes the build of this free model. The model shows nicely the elegant lines of the airplane despite its horrible history and purpose. The modeldesign has some flaws and mistakes. Some parts, like the wing root-ribs, needed a good trimming to fit. But more visible are some mis-alignments in the exture andcoloring: the wheelbays are out of line and on the body there are lines that are not in line with the same line on the previous or following body-part. Visible but not destroying the view. And the color of the enginebay. Nevertheless a fun build!

Thanx Willem,
So instead of "to be continued" => 'to be corrected'... Will do so. Because I am sure that this 'shift' isn't the very first hickup in my twiddling it is a surprise to receive finally a remark of one of the (meanwhile) 81 known downloaders. Correction to be applied ;-) hartelijke groet, Gerard by the way, the no-swastika-one carries a password |
