Let's get it together
For the joining of the forward to the aft fuselage sections, as usual, I had to reinforce that joint. The problem is that with the added nose weight and the gear bay, the glue tabs are just too weak at this point.
My solution ( same for the Mirage 3C ) is to insert a wood dowel ( chop stick ) into the mating sections and applying glue to both sides and then mate. The yellow Tamiya tape is low tack and is removed after 5 minutes while the sections dry. Nothing to it. Isaac

I like using bamboo skewers for support like this...........very cheap and strong. Being rounded also helps with the hole alignment.
Great work as always Isaac! |

Venus looks great...
Part of the Kfir C7 planes in the Israeli Air Force received names of planets. The names were on both sides of the nose. This plane #539 got the name Venus (נגה). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus |

Thanks for the comment. The Romanized Hebrew name for נגה is " Noga ". I always liked the sound of that name. Isaac

Vertical fin
The vertical fin is similar to the Mirage 3C. However, there is the addition of an intake at the base used for cooling with the J-79 engine. It is a distinguishing feature of all Kfirs.
Here is the frame added sides to smooth the surfaces here is the fin insides and before gluing glue on the vertical fin here is the air scoop and glue on lastly, add the brake parachute housing and fairing. Same as the Mirage. I used a wood dowel for the rear dome and painted grey color. Here is the assembly. Later on the small fairing for the rudder will be added. Isaac

Great stuff Isaac, you are very resourceful. Where would the world be without chopsticks. My wife is of Chinese Singaporean descent and she gives you a thumbs up !
Interesting note by Yaron, by the way, regarding the name of the aircraft. I suddenly remember a Hebrew phrase I learned by head once in a hotel in Tel Aviv: Ani rotze maim beva kashar (I would like to have some water, please). Cheers, Erik |

Ejection seat
here is the seat completed
and the cockpit tub in place. Notice the small cutout at the rear bottom to accommodate the nose gear bay. Here is the seat position as shown in a cross sectional cut of a Mirage 3 which is similar in the angle to the Kfir. The reason it is shown is to show that the ejection seat does not need the bottom surgery I and other performed on the Mirage or Kfir with the gear down. However, I did trim just a bit to get the seat to clear the gear bay structure a bit more. Here is the seat in place Isaac

Canopy on
here is the vacufomed canopy and the framing including the aft fairing.
glue on to the clear plastic trim the plastic and a look at the cockpit with the addition before closing I would have liked to see more detail in the cockpit in addition to the great rendering. canopy is glued on using conventional glue. I am hesitant using super glue as Yoav recommends because of bad experience I had that ruined a model ( but that is me ). Isaac
