Orlik Mosquito, stalled project

After a year and a half of sitting on the desk, I tried to pick up on this model, and just would like to add my comments on this one, I think is a nice model of this plane and probably the best model from this designer that I have built yet, have built his La5, P-47, P-40. The model did suffer a bit from my rusty skills and prolonged break in progress. I did not open the bomb bay doors, mostly due to lack of time to build this, but also to preserve the lines on this remarkable design from De Havilland the "wooden wonder", an amazing aircraft. The interesting part of this build is the canopy which was my first vacuform using Yoav's directions on how to do this, as this canopy is too large for my usual "push mold" process, and is a very satisfying result and not that hard to do even though it seems laborious until you try it. For a better build I would refer the reader to Erik Zwaan's build as I am following this for tips....

Looking fine to me. Smooth work on that petal nose, and as already stated, canopy looks great!

Hi Glen, go for it and finish your Mossie! It's a great model and the results up so far look very good. At the time I was working on the canopy, in 2014, I had never made a vacuumed one before and used the individual sheeting parts. A tough job, and I would have done it differently today.

I hope my thread will be of use to you. Any questions, just let me know.

Cheers,
Erik
