That will be rolled as part of the main landing gear.

It will be the strut that attaches the wheel to the main landing gear.

Search for "F2A Buffalo restoration" and you can find pictures of the main gear.

A small caution using paper weights for card model suitability. unless it says cardstock a lot of the intermediate weight paper your 30- 40 lb papers are the softer typewriter or high class office brief paper. it does not behave or the have the stiffness that card does. for most of the curvy shaped parts for card models 67 lb card is perfect. I use the flimsy-est type writer paper for the parts that have to be rolled tight, like landing gears gun barrels, 1/100 scale missile tubes, etc. try to use the same brilliance if you mix and match paper types, the parts match a lot better.

Damn! Damn! Damn! Somehow I got a water spot on my Buffalo right on the wing. No way I know of to fix it. Printed out another copy on 24lb paper to see how that goes.

I have built 1/144 scale WWI airplanes for the Wings of Glory game.
32 Lb cardstock works well for these small models.

Recovered from the catastrophe of a drop of water on the wing. Printed out another and finished this pretty quickly based on experience from the first one. Landing gear is really fiddly but I think it came out well.

Looks very well.Part of beauty of digital format models is you can always print it again if something goes wrong.I don't remember last time I did printed published model.

Nice work. You executed the fiddly undercarriage very well and the overall sit and appearance of the aircraft looks just like a Buffalo.
