Work continues with this plane

Assembled the fuel tank.
Used the original parts from the kit. But didn't attempt a clean cut of the parts
or a precise gluing because I knew I was going to modify it.

Soaked with CA, and sanded it...

After some Tamiya gold paint the tank was ready and fit to the
fuselage, along with the completed cockpit.

I know it's not a very detailed cockpit, and it probably isn't accurate.
But it's perfect for my goal of having a decent-looking model, and learning
what I can from this type of kit.

The pedals are movable. I may attempt to make the rudder functional.
But I know I won't make the elevators functional. Not this time. Maybe in a far future... if ever.

The original paper provided by the kit to cover the fuselage sides and wings
is too thick and too yellow, so I am using a thinner and lighter textured paper
Photo shows the original part on the textured new paper to be used:

Fuselage is basically complete:

This is how it looks like with some back light:

Thanks for reading!

Until next time.

Great work on the semi-transparent paper. Just what a model like this needs. - Leif

Wonderful model and wonderful realization so far!
I like very much the way you realized the truss and the translucent covering is phenomenal. Very nice the tank also.

And you said this should be a "simple as possible" build to have a "decent" result!

What if you decided to make an "epic" build?

I'll be sticked to this thread with great interest!
