Thank you one and all. Coming from this group, this truly means a lot. The kit is fitting well and the rendering is really top notch! Makes anyone look pretty amazing.

I added the top planking, the underside, the turtle deck and the fin/rudder along with the main wing spar. It needs a bit of touch up, but all appears well. Coming along very nicely, I must say...

After I put the bottom on with its tabs, I realized they blocked the wing attachment...but it worked out just fine by simply bending the tabs up. In fact, the extra friction made the fit better! The spars are, by the way, 1/32nd sheet.

I forgot to mention that I also made sure to open up the control cable holes and glue some inside before closing everything.

More soon and thanks for looking!

Dan

Tail skid (which took some head-scratching!), stabs and wings.

All on, straight and without a hitch...I'll try the cowling tomorrow! Stay tuned.

Are the forward fuselage small intakes graphics, or did you build those up?

Thanks to your presentation, I just ordered one from ecardmodels ... to also use as the basis for a small RC model.

Hi Gene...great idea. Lots of wing area and just a tad of dihedral won't look bad. The stab seems plenty big as is...I made a Peanut scale model of this guys once from my own plans. Flew really well!

Ahh...the beauty of shading! That's all Matt77! I cut out and area for the gun muzzles. What attracted me to this model (aside from really liking the Aviatik!) was the dang rendering. This modeler has done several others and I may order some more...pretty amazing.

Thanks for commenting. It would be fun to follow your RC build.

Never knew of this plane until this thread. Interesting history.

Agreed - great recoloring by Matt77! When I ordered the Aviatik Berg, somehow Matt's Pfalz, Albatros, and Fi-156 jumped into my cart.
