Marek/Matt77 Aviatik Berg D.I in 1/33rd Scale
I'm currently making a 1/32nd plastic Sopwith Dolphin and it's drying. So I just couldn't resist making another paper card model. Here is the "kit"!
I then glued some of the former parts and structural members to some 1/32nd sheet balsa and started cutting some things out. I did the fin/rudder and began the main bulkheads along with the start of the engine. I just couldn't resist. We'll see how well this one goes together. Thanks for looking! Dan |

Thanks Tim, Gary, YOAV and Don...much appreciated from you guys.
Here is part of the building sequence for the basic engine. I will be adding some more details to it soon, but here is the state of affairs... I discovered that you can get cleaner paper folds and make the cylinders easier if you add a tad of water (hence the brush to apply it sparingly) to the paper and then form it. You guys have likely known this for years, but I was pleased to finally figure it out with a bit more research on YouTube. I'll keep experimenting, though! I'm going to add the manifolds out of paper soon...they look a little tough to do since their diameter is pretty small for me, anyway. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. Thanks for looking! Dan |

Very nic work. I have this model and some of it seemed a mystery to me. Hopefully your build thread can enlighten me.

Looking forward to this, especially with your skills, as I've been intrigued by Matt77's repaints.

Thanks JoeG, RMKS and Gene!
There are definitely some head scratchers in this one but I really want to make it work well since the repaint is just fabulous! I did nothing to the paper at all! What you see is all as Matt77 did it on his computer. It's rather striking. It's kind of like the John Dell heavy bombers...they are rendered really well too. I've never built a Helinski kit, but looking at Ricardo's work, this one seems on par. I'll post another shot tonight. Lots to tell! Well...if it goes together. Cheers, Dan |
