Hi Mike...
I use something similar called EZ-Line. It's basically elastic thread like that found in a sock. I don't know if the Uschi stuff has any advantage. I rig all my models with EZ-Line as long as it's not for strength! Give it a go and give us a report!! Dan Nice job on your models, by the way!! |

I have used EZ Line as well. Did not like it because it is flat. This stuff appears round.

Perhaps it has been changed. I bought mine approx 10 years ago.

did you know that many (later) British planes in WWI had flat rigging wires? they had less air resistance than round ones. So actually your wire might even be more correct. |

Although mine "APPEARS" round, there are many reviews out there (like some of these from model RR folks looking for round) that complain about the flatness. That property would be good for some instances as scissorsandplanes pointed out, but I wouldn't want to be the one making sure every strand was flat and aerodynamically lined up!!
Gene K P.S. You can also get elastic thread at your local JoAnn store ... or flat "wire" at sites like this. |
