Correct, but transparent windows always look more realistic and attractive and are extremely easy to install.

Without a cockpit interior it would look extremely empty, and less realistic.
I think the drawn glass surfaces gives these old models their charm. No need to try and kick them into the 21st century.

A matter of tastes. If there is a cockpit interior, the windows would be too small to appreciate the work inside. But when windows are transparent, they look more realistic. On full size aircraft, windows are always transparent and rarely the cockpit is visible to the general observer. That is why it looks much more realistic than a white paper with black lines. Anyway, I insist, it is a matter of tastes and how much detail one wants to incorporate. And this GELI X-15, beautifully built showing how nice are GELI models are and why they are so popular.
