The recce Phantom was the last of the Phantoms flown by the German air force, something we tankers got to see regularly. Flying at about 35 feet above the engine decks of our Chieftains we could be blown of the vehicle by the jetwash. Those guys liked to prove how good they were by getting to be the lowest of low flyers. Nice guys when we got to meet them, but very competitive.
