TBD Devastator 1:100 from Thai Paperworks

Doing the Golden Wings version. I mentioned that there was a minor error with the tailplane colors and the designer jumped on it and fixed it right away!! And it is a FREE kit! After that how could I not build it Afternoon's work:

Another good one, Michael. I always liked the appearance of the TBD. I have a liking for second-rate airplanes: Buffalo, TBD, Fulmar, and the like. And you can't beat the 1930s U.S. Navy and Army Air Corps color schemes!

So I grabbed up some gumption and cut out the cockpit area for a scratch 'pit! Had already done some prep work by coloring the insides aluminum. The 'pit in these guys is pretty simple --- just stuff hung on the walls, a instrument panel, some radios and a gun ring. What the heck it is just a piece of paper and some ink...

You also have the option of 2 or 3 crew members. if torpedo bombing you only have the pilot and gunner and can seal up the middle pit. if bombing you need all three. I modified the Maly tbd years ago and the thread is still there. some good cockpit pics and parts to copy from. good luck, your devastator looks good so far.

Since you are going for an interior, you may want to therma-form (or vacuform which is more involved) the cockpit.
Looking good.

Good start going Michael. When you're all finished up, post up some photos and I'l put them into the Ecards store listing.

This could get addictive....

Pieces of cockpit interior coming together. Found a 1:48 plastic kit (I know -- blasphemy) on the web and I think mine compares pretty well considering it is half the size. BTW if you have any interest in TBD's check this site:
