Texman. See attached. Not sure but I think it was about $8 for 6 sheets.

My plan. Cross fingers. Coat in Future clear acrylic (learned this trick doing plastic models). The Furure prevents "fogging" when you use CA glue. Let dry. Coat again and while still wet place the canopy frames in the wet Future. When dry attach with CA. If it works PARHTEE!!

Thanks Michael, does it have a thickness measurement?

Texman,

Nothing written as to thickness. It seems about the thickness of label tape, perhaps a tad thicker. It is very "bendable". Ichecked and it is $10+ at Amazon.

Getting all the really teeny bits ready for the finale. After futzing with the clear canopy for a while I realized I was probably over thinking it. The printing on the clear doesn't work as well as I thought it would. The ink doesn't go on heavy enough to be opaque like on paper. What worked best (at least so far, the true test will come when I attach it) is just as shown in the picture use the Future to glue the frames to the clear. Once dry I should be able to cut it out with no problem. If you do this make sure to color the back of the frames or the stark white will show thru the clear.

Very nice work on the undercarriage legs. Thanks for sharing your experience with clear canopy methodologies. Learning a lot from your threads.

There has been a work slowdown at the Mini Republic plant. The design engineers have found that the original material called for in the original canopy design is too thick. The original spec called for .007 mylar coated with a substance to enable printing directly onto the "glass". This has proved unworkable. They have put out RFP's (Request For Proposal) to various supply companies to provide mylar that is .004 in thickness. Because of this much of the construction has come to a halt because of the fragile nature of the lil Beastie. Not too often do you see fragile and P-47 in the same sentence! Some of the sub assemblies have been completed even the tiny gunsight.

Here at the mini Republic factory the workers took a break for a war bond drive with an illustrious WW1 flying ace.
