Errands day at Chez Michael so not much progress to report. Got both wheel spats done and the lil' sucker is slowly coming together

Slow but sure progress. Next time I will try 24 lb paper rather than 32. The paper thickness seems to really make a difference on the tiny detail parts.

Not only thickness but also make of that paper.I found store brand (read cheap) 67lb paper that works a lot better than pricier brand. It's a lot more flexible yet still has enough surface strength and it doesn't collapse when glue dries(I use water based carpenters glue).
Nice P-26.I have one from Marek Pacynski but avalanche of other models keeps pushing that build away to neverland . |

Looks like it's coming along nicely Michael. Engine looks pretty good too.

Have liked the P-26 since 1970s but that thought hadn't ever happened, good point. You folks who can build these things this size amaze me.

"Oh, Lootenant, I really like a man in uniform with a colorful peashooter! Too bad it is paper and only 3 inches long."
Really happy with how this turned out. The butt fromers were a real task to deal with in this tiny size. If I ever do one of those again I will convert it to regular joiners. It really wouldn't be too hard to change. Rigging is .005 stainless steel wire which holds it's shape and shine very well. The aerials are from Uschividr.com and are much nicer that EZ Line because it is not flat. With all these aerials, rigging etc. it is really hard to find a place to pick this lil' dude up! The clear windscreen is .003 mylar which is so far the best thing I have found for canopies. Dunked it in Future and then laid the cut out frames in it while still wet. It also helped to run just a tiny bead of CA around the edge to help seal them on. Figures courtesy of John Dell and the ecardmodels site. I formed them as per Airdave's way of using a paint brush end on a mouse pad to give them some dimension. Stuffed them with some wadded up napkin before gluing.
