I dunno. I Never found color pics of the specific plane, but I used the same model instruction sheet and a side view somebody drew up on the net. And I specifically picked that one because it didn't have yellow wings (I already have a version with yellow wings, and wanted some variety. How about we say it represents the aircraft in 1941, after it's had brand new gray wings put on to replace the yellow wings that were damaged in a bad carrier landing?

Regardless of color, excellent design by you and build by Pericles. Now, do I want to drill out the holes in the dive flaps...? Les (The Voice of Authority) |

Newby Paper Modellers Resolution
Quote:
So, resolution to self starting today: I'm a paper modeller now and will happily build any model of a plane that a designer has taken the time and gone to great lengths to give me- and will still build it and NOT question it even if I think something may not be quite right. All the best fellow modellers. And designers, keep doing your wonderful work- I'm proud to build your products and will forever be your humble servant. And gomidefilho , apologies if you feel your thread has been hijacked!

Malarkey to you , but my hat is off to those who care about accuracy and history. I've enjoyed the enlightening discussion.

I understand and I did enjoy the topic but I was hinting at getting back to the build before the conversion reached the upper layers of our atmosphere.

Friends I do not particularly care about the intrusion of the subject
on the particular model colors here. I think the role models of historical subjects mostly seek to be as close as possible to the original. But what is the original? We work in my view on role modeling with simulacrum, and the reason is very simple the printing of the model varies from equipment to equipment, the tone and color change drastically depending on the model and brand of the printer. I have been a modeler since 1985 and I find this debate in the accumulation of all these years absolutely sterile and corrosive. I've seen friendships and modeling clubs come to an end. Obviously you can not paint a model green that the color is sand. I think the important thing is to keep the fun without exaggerating the accuracy of certain things. As the author of the thread, I would like this debate to end. |
