Excellent build in any scale....
In my youth, when I built the old Revell 1/72nd Memphis Belle, my late father spoke about being in an honor guard for the plane and its crew when it came to Bovingdon, the airbase where he was stationed. Ike may have even been there, as I recall. Sure enough, years later, I found a photo in a book of the plane at Bovingdon with its honor guard and, sure enough, there was dad in the front row. Dad was a sergeant at the time, but was later reduced in rank to corporal after he "borrowed" a Jeep (he was in the motor pool) to go visit a woman in one of the nearby villages. That woman would become his wife and my mother.... |

Oh, Very Nice Michael!
The map is a nice touch. Very much like the old model kit from the 1950's that was boxed with artwork from the T.V. series 12 O' Clock High. Which was an off shoot from the Gregory Peck movie of the same title. 1/300 scale, and I thought making ones at 1/200th hard. I salute you sir! Keep on modeling. Jeff |

Terrific model and display. That was some airplane. Where did those aircrews find the guts to tackle mission after mission over heavily defended targets? Whenever I see a model or a survivor I think about those guys.
