Scratch building Billy Bishop's SE-5a

Hello all,

Starting a new scratch build project - modelling Billy Bishop's 60 squadron Royal Aircraft Factory SE 5a in a scale of 1-33.

The fuselage rectangular shape, allows to build it as a one part.

My intention was to build the cockpit from one part, but when I tried to bond it, the fuselage was distorted. Solution was to bond each wall as separate part.

OOooh nice. I've wanted to build one of these since I read Derek Robinson's Goshawk Squadron.

A worthy project. Historic airplane. Excellent beginning.

Thanks Tom Lapinski, MichaelS, PhantomCruiser, Gary, Rubenandres77, Don and Yoav for your very kind words.

I was hoping to post a real progress with this model, but, it didn't work out, so only one picture for today

Looking forward to the week end ...

Exactly how much "scratch built" is in this scratch build? Are you drawing everything? are you only using that profile view or you have detailed 3 view drawings to work with?
