Spent my building time putting the exhaust pipes together, and placing on the engine plate. Next up was to put on wing fairings, and they fit well no surprises.
Putting parts together gluing the engine on and then to the plane, and the cowling goes on snugly but easily, so I think I'll have a removable prop so can look at the engine after built if one would like. The classic Shiden Kai front end is coming together, the exhaust making this look with the cowling on ...

Some updated info on this one, wing control surfaces are on, I have not extended the flaps although are designed to be displayed this way. I have not seen any picture on a standing aircraft with these out and doesn't look right to me, as well as simplifying construction as supporting wire not needed if not extended. Have started to do the canopy and the front part is standing in place but not attached yet... surprisingly moving on to props and gear before too long.

More great progress, Glen. Neat spinner too.

It will look great on it's legs soon!

Still really nicely designed model Dan and you will like that when you start on yours, hope this thread is of help. AH kit exist with with fewer parts if you have the wildcat or p-39 or hurricane (or less available p-38) early kits with simpler cockpits and lack separate control surfaces ) to get one's feet wet those kits can usually be found ...this one is just as nice to put together only takes a bit more time and has more small parts. My first was the old p-38....
