In a much elaborated kit, it would be surprising if the flaps, ailerons and their links to the wings were simple. The pictures show that it is not the case…

Beautiful work on those tiny bits! Your attention to those minute parts is what sets your building apart, but the results show your effort

I'm not above leaving some bits off. The leading edge has flaps ?

. The entire leading edge is movable. In each wing, there is a flap inboard of the engine nacelle and two outboard. I'll keep them "off" for now because the links to the wings are very fragile.

As usual, I used the plastic canopy made by Halinski. GPM also sells canopies but, not very surprisingly, sell their own canopies if they exist. This is not irrelevant because the shape is not necessarily the same. I have already experienced serious trouble with GPM’s canopies for kits released by other publishers (FlyModel’s Tigercat, for example). That’s why I always buy Halinski canopies at another e-shop, more specialized on Haliski kits.

Same question, I would love to take some tips on this as well. Your canopy is a marvel.

Also, how did you make the canopy rims hold its shape without attaching them?

@ Alzictorini / Lex - I use cellulosic (all-purpose) glue. As you know, assembling the canopies is far from being my favorite task. I always try to shape the parts as well as possible before gluing them. The glue serves to keep the shape, not to force it. As the glue is awkward to apply, I put it only where strictly needed and step by step. The links between paper parts are done with white glue. Using rolled paper instead of wires very much eases the gluing task.

As expected, quite a lot of ballast was needed in the nose. I used a pair of balls from a out-of-use bearing. Smile: the plane is looking at you!

Thank you very much for the tip! I am definitely going to pre-shape in the future. One thing I am less clear about is the glue you mentioned, I have never heard about this type of glue, is there any particular brands you could provide so I could look it up? I regularly use white glue but I don't think that quite the same as what you are talking about... right? AFAIK white glue does an awful job holding anything against plastic.
