This kit suffers from detail overload... making it a tedious build.

This is perhaps the finest example of scale modelling I've ever seen in my entire life. Congratulations, but i agree with Mr. Falco. Over detailed models are sometimes too much time consuming and one can easily get bored after years and years of hard work. I myself prefer simpler models like Geli, Their Me-262 is good enough, simpler but at least, externally is an accurate replica of this most beautiful jet fighter. And being easier to make with not so many detail (which in many cases will never be seen again), enthusiasm is never lost. Anyway, congratulations on this fantastic model.

Obviously this is a matter of taste, anyone search the kind of model that suits best his modelling behavior, fortunately there is a lot of choice out there. Anyway - and this is my very personal opinion - the pure joy for me is to add as many details as I can - no matter if eventually they will be visible or not. The pleasure is right in the build work itself, almost regardless - I can even say - of the final result. I know this can sound a little crazy. This is the reason for I'm enjoying every single photo of this fantastic building thread, I can feel the "super-detailing frenzy" itching on my fingers just looking to your work. Well... this was just to add a detail-fanatic point of view! Please excuse my bad English, I hope I was able to explain myself... |

This is why this hobby is so great... everyone can scratch their on itch however they feel no matter if your looking for semi-realistic, fantasy, what-if, realistic, super detailed, no detail, semi detailed... there is enough to this hobby for us all to enjoy.

I just keep looking at it in awe. I compare it with my current work and think...why bother??!!!
Amazing any way you slice it. Dan |

Thanks for the comments As Tonino said, it is a matter of taste. I'd tend to say that this model is somewhat overdetailed (you'll see when I get to the engines...) but I prefer "more" than "less", as in GPM's much older kit.
The pictures show the mating of the cockpit barrel with the front fuselage section. The instrument panel back side will be partly covered by the fuselage skin. |

Pretty and amazingly clean work those cylinder and gear details must be very small..fun to watch you build this one..

LOOK AT THIS COCKPIT... LOOK AT IT!!! It really looks like a WW2 German Ace lived in it for a couple of flight hours. Outstanding build... Awesome job here. Look at me giggling like a schoolgirl over this build.

Thanks for the comments, Glen and Falco
The pictures of the underside show clearly the slits where the wing spars will fit. I almost always use 0,8mm thick card, instead of 1,0mm, for reinforcement. The parts that make the slit thickness have an extra sheet of thin paper. This way, the wing spars should enter more easily. |
