assembly continued...

you can see by the 1st picture from the previous posting, I used the tabs from the kit, except I cut them from the part and use them as connectors for the fuselage parts. They serve as strengthening parts for the fuselage as well as aligning the parts properly. when used as separate connecting strips it minimizes the bulges between fuse segments. I scratch built the exhaust ends. they are basically little, very little trapazoids. here are a few pics of them and the cooler intake...

fuselage continued

the bare fuselage is finished, next in no particular order is installing the canopy. the forward most part is scored but the after part is rounded to fit the fuselage segment.

fuselage continued again...

next in the order that I finish aircraft is installing the rudder. a little trim is necessary but it fits well. I use the rudder as a sighting mark when the wings get installed. the wings usually go on by attaching the lower segment that blends with the fuselage, then wrapping or forming the upper wing and tabs against the fuselage. I sight along the rudder to make sure that the dihedral is even. I do this by eyeball and don't have a jig or the like...

more fuselage doo dads

thanks Don. This is just one way to build. for those that can use the info, enjoy, on this site there have been no less than a gazillion ways to cut fold score and even more recommendations for glues scissors and edge painting materials. moving onward, Bruno is adding new details every kit. this series has wing fairings. to prepare them they need a roll along the long axis and a little curl where they wrap around the forward edge of the wings. then comes the radiator cooling scoop, a prominent feature on the Ki 61.

last of the fuselage parts

Finishing the fuselage are the 3 blade prop and the tail stabilizers. the are pretty straight forward, the aft stabilizers are dead horizontal , or 90 degrees from the rudder. the prop I usually place on last or you suffer the bent blade demons....
