Modelart’s Aero L-29 Delfin
Here is an airplane that has been sitting on my harddrive too long. Dr Zarkov’s designs are always crisp and interesting. But they don’t build very easily. Lots of small parts and sometimes ambiguous instructions. It took a good solid week of work to finish up this model. I was flying with a Bulgarian pilot last week so I took the plunge and made this Delfin model. It was a bit of a rush job so it has a few cosmetic flaws. The canopy was cut from a pre-made salad container so it is a bit thick.
This model came from a CD I had bought from the good doctor a long time ago. I don’t have a current site where you can purchase it. Perhaps Audrey Zarkov will be kind enough to provide one on this thread. |

If your referring to Andrey Zarkov,
sadly, he passed last October.

FLAWS... what flaws? This build is nice and clean. I had managed to purchase 99% of the Zarkov model collection before Andrey's passing (rest his soul). I will go on a build marathon one day and build them all. I just feel like my skills are not there yet to build them good enough to make Emil and Andrey proud.

Absolute pleasure to look at knife. That's a very realistic 'sheen' finish- do you varnish or something?

I sprayed the aircraft with a couple of coats of clear gloss to hide all the fingerprints. Then I sprayed a coat of clear dull coat as a final coat to cut down oh the sheen.

Very nice. I want to build the Tiger Meet version one of these days.
