Very sleek. I assume this was the Russian equivalent of the Connie?

That's right. It's even a bit bigger than Connie. These planes were mostly seen on the airports of the communist countries in 1960s and 1970s.
Two years ago I visited Il-18 in Czech Republic. It served as a historical object and restaurant near highway. Half of the plane was restaurant and the rest was original. Very comfortable plane on the ground(I was sitting on passenger seats). From what I heard it was way different in the air. There're not many places where you can interact with historical vehicle. Great experience. I have some pictures somewhere and I'll try to find them and then I can show you.

Russians never had anything near level of sophistication of a Connie but they did try.Tu-70 was passenger development of Tu-4-that plane was reverse engendered B-29.It didn't enter production and Tupolev was told to concentrate on Tu-16 bomber and Tu-104 commercial jet. I think Il-18 is still buzzing around Africa but don't quote me on that. There is YT video of one in Somalia I think |

Rather like a DC-7 in my opinion. DC-4 looks quite small when compared to Il-18. I have finished Pan Am DC-4 also in 1/160.

You are correct. I forgot about Dc-7 and Tu-114. Great planes in its day.

Doesn’t matter which aircraft it was closest to look and perform like, it’s a great looking model. Keep up the fantastic work. I love the old airliners, real airliners!!!!

Here's one of my pictures of the Il-18. Like I said before it was taken somewhere in Czech Republic.
I got more pictures but can't find them now. Anyway, who tried kofola? It's some kind of Czech national drink, similiar to Pepsi or Coca-Cola but with completely different flavor, very unique. Kofola is great but only when cooled. Normally it's awful.
