Ilyushin is completed in 99%. That's why there's only one picture below. I can't show you unfinished plane at this stage . Needs just a retouch and varnish.

That was a pretty quick build. Looks very nice.

Looking good. What do you use to varnish? I tried a water based acrylic on one of mine (fortunately while it was still on the sheet and before I wasted many hours building) and the ink immediately dissolved.

I use varnish for wood. Paper comes from the trees(wood), right? Water based acrylic is for plastic models. I also use airbrush on small models like this one. On bigger ones normal brush. For that varnish, of course. Retouch is always by brush.

So oil based is the go. I'll get me some.
And just looking at your last photo, nice alignment of everything, especially the engines. I'm gonna go to Tricks and Tips to find out how to enlarge smaller scales like you do. There's a lot of juicy 1/144 subjects that I wanna do in my pet 1/100. |

I like the Antonov aircraft and this build is looking good.

One more thing to this question. I use typical woodworker's varnish. It looks white while in a jar.
Antonov? I can't see any Antonov here in this thread . It's Ilyushin.
