Finished-S&P 1/100 Boeing 247
Hope you like. I've also got Bruno's German registered D-AGAR and a really pretty all red PCA example to build. Knowing that this one went together with few problems, I'm looking to building both.

That's a terrific model. Very clean. Also--I notice that the color is much more authentic than the one I built. Mine is too light (and not nearly as well built). I am going to build another example and will try to do a neater job, particularly where the nacelles join the wings and around the pilot windows. You also got the fuselage cross-section right, which bedeviled me. I attached a couple of pictures. You can see what I mean. Can't wait to see your next build.

Outstanding! Between Bruno's model and your building skill, you have captured the look of this historic air liner.

Thanks all for your favorable comments- MUCH appreciated.
In regards to the fuselage cross-section, I had at one point a Williams Brothers 1/72 plastic of this plane (sold it without building it); but I remember the fuselage on that model had sort of squarish contours- slightly narrower on the top than the underside. I just bore that in mind while building this. Cheers, Garry G. |
