carpenter's glue

I've never had to glue a carpenter back together so don't ask me.

Well I am sorry to report that all my 1/100 build attempts failed as 1/100 is just too small for my skills and or fat fingers... Since I am in love with S&P kits and I will however not give up on them. I am going to take a lesson from my good friend MichaelS and build at my favorite scale instead (1:33) for that I embarked on a journey to figure out how to best scale up those little bastards to 1:33. Some might say that at that scale they will suffer aesthetically but I don't care, what I love the most about S&P Kits is their simplicity for the given level of detail. I will report on my progress... if and when there is progress. A big thank you to all those who tried to help and believe me you have. I just realized that in order to sharpen my skills I need to focus on one scale and for me that is 1:33.

Whit that being said does anybody know the % increase for going from 1:100 to 1:33?

You will likely find conversion to 1/50 or 1/72 easier and more appealing but beauty in the eye of the beholder.

I'm looking forward to your reports on progress. Good luck.

You are correct... so far I found that scaling to 1:50 is by far the easiest way to go.

The % increase to go from 1:100 to 1:33 is 303.03% so you could drop the .03% and go with 303% unless you have very good calibrated eyes.

Thanks... This information is just what I needed. So far I found that I need to breakup the pieces to scale them up individually. So far things look great and soon I will build the A-4 again at my comfort scale.

Patience and perseverance, a couple of fundamental things in modeling I think, if you do not feel comfortable or have fun in 1/100 try another scale, a suggestion I would try in 1/50 or 1/72 are more comfortable to handle and are good Particularly to my 1/33 I think it does not suit you for now, true that the size is bigger but it has its problems too and the detailed is very difficult in some models and can get to saturate for the time it takes. They also come into play other materials, wires and other things, also other glues, in order not to be larger are simpler, there are even very small pieces. I think 1/50 or 1/72 would suit you but if your desire is 1/33 Go ahead, relax, have fun, and especially if something does not work out, try again and you will achieve the result you expect. A greeting and enjoy this beautiful hobby.

Well said. Best observation of our chosen hobby I've read. All the best.

Going back to your first Skyhawks in the thread, I’d be overjoyed if one of my builds came out that good!
