I will try as you said but I am sort of itching to build it at 1/50 just for fun

It is done... I messed up the prop installation! I tried using a toothpick as a prop shaft but due to impatience I glued the prop on and slid the toothpick inside the fuselage. I pushed it too far inward and I could not pull it back out without ruining the prop. Lessons learned:

PATIENCE... I forgot to follow my own golden rule because I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. The want to move one to another build is no joke.

Is there a way to "solifdy" props to make them stronger? I'm thinking some kind of epoxy or "clear" varnish.

Finally I would like to thank Bruno for this wonderful kit... a real joy to build. Next is the Brent repaint of this kit at 1/50.

I usually embed a length of wire or even a piece of .015 - 020 plastruct between the prop blades. Get a box of 100 "corsage pins" - they make great reinforcement and Iuse them to apply glue. I think even coating them in CA glue would help. Looking forward to the Brent recolor. Bruno's kits are nice but some lack any distinctive markings.

I might have to break something to extract some wires out of as I usually don't hold on to stuff. I will try to provide more build details for the Brent repaint in the hopes that build mistakes will be prevented with community feedback during each step of the build.

Echo MichaelS comment about coating with CA glue. I use thin CA and it works great as a hardener. Key is to coat with CA and then leave it alone until completely dry.

Ok... the only CA I am familiar with is Kazy Glue and that $#!% is crazy, I always end up gluing my fingers together. Can anyone recommend a friendlier CA? Something almost more docile, easier to handle.

AFAIK all CA's are the same. Just buy the cheapest you can find. Others may disagree.

Paper clips are a good cheap source for wire.

Falco, before you build the repaint, send me a private message. I have some new parts for you to try.

Excellent work Falco. Turned out nice. The Brent repaint - is that 'Boog'?

Correct... it is "Boog" and according to Brent, the rest of the squadron will soon join "Boog". I simply love the S&P P-47 and looking down in my pile I see more wonderful build of other subjects that will be just as exciting to build as the 47. But first I will build the 47 to death, and only after passing a stringent "self-imposed" quality test will I move on to the next model on the pile.
