for the Skyhawk, I need to make a conversion on the wings. The leading edge slats are always in the down position on the ground. Than you Isaac

I thought so too, but I was able to find 2 types of pictures. YOAV if the SKYHAWK In the museum there is no need. Look at these pictures. and here some pictures of operational aircrafts on the ground. one A-4 on aircraft carrier and in the other 2 at the IAF. |

Fake reality :-)
These images with the leading edge slats in the up position are fake (museum) reality.
We used to keep them up with a 6" screwdriver stuck between the slat and the inner/outer wing pylon, in order to perform some necessary maintenance. We don't see the supporting screwdriver in the images, probably because in the I.A.F. we didn't alwys work by the book And I'm sure there was a by-the-book way of keeping them up, on the ground. Yoav and I talked yesterday about the topic of the leading edge slats on the ground. His point is that if someone wants to build it in a museum configuration on the ground, then the slats can be in the retracted position as shown in the photos. However, a realistic model will have the slats down on the ground because they are gravity driven when not flying. For my build, I would need to separate the slats for an on the ground configuration.
