Two Macchi C.202 Folgore models in 1/50-ish scale
I am building two different models of the Macchi C.202 "Folgore" both in something like 1/50-ish scale.
One is from Marek. I have four paint jobs for this kit. Two are available at ecards. This model is done in sections with many formers and is fairly detailed. https://www.ecardmodels.com/index.ph...2-folgore.html The second one is by Fabrizio Prudenziati and is on a different method. This model comes in 8 paint jobs and the models have no internal formers. The body is actually one large piece much like Fiddler Green models. Some of the details such as the exhaust and landing gear are more 2-d then the Marek model but these seem simpler to build. We will find out! https://web.archive.org/web/20140531...Fka_Mc202.html

One-Layering parts on card from a light bulb box. Must be between .5 and .8 millimeter. I glue then press between books to keep it flat while drying.
Two-While wating for layered parts to dry I took time to fix my first Marek model. This guy is from 2009 or so. He is in the shop due to a broken landing gear. It needs a little dusting and cleaning as well.

Thank you.
one-Working on some small parts. two-Well this has been a fight. All formers seemed over sized-way oversized. I filed and shaped the first few to get this far. Then I reprinted the same page from another livery and the formers printed about 20% smaller for some reason. So I will layer those up and get back to it... hopefully with easy fitting formers! Three-With my printer issues fixed the new formers fit well with just a little filing!

The two models side by side so far. One is the Marek model with internal formers the top one is the model by Fabrizio Prudenziati that uses no internal formers. As expected, the single peice body of the Fabrizio Prudenziati moel built up quicker, but had it's own challanges.

Thanks Michael.
Not nearly as clean as many of the wonderful build are on this forum but I build for fun. I have been building since 2009 and still can't get my seams to look seamless, but I have fun non-the-less. And I really do like 1/50-ish scale. Small enough to build quick but not so small that my fat fingers can't handle it!

I like watching you build two different designers' take on this good-looking airplane. Don |

Looking great mate. I've got a couple of Zio's Folgores printed off in in 1/100 but haven't been brave enough to tackle yet. I'll be watching your 1/50 progress with great interest. Good luck.
Regards, Garry G.
