Fokker 70

KLM has fased out the Fokker 70. After 97 years, no Fokker aircraft is flying with KLM anymore. It started with the Fokker F-II in 1919 and now the Fokker 70 will no longer be seen in the KLM blue colours. So to commemmorate this, I decided to build the Martinair model by LS (see Scaldis or Zeist Bouwplaten for copies), repainted in the KLM Cityhopper colours, and with the characteristic speedbrakes, that Fokker pioneered in 1965 with the F-28 Fellowship, in open position.
The engines, Rolls Royce turbofans, and larger than the original ones, were taken -slightly modified- from the DC-9-30 model. It is in scale 1 : 65, which is not the cute small scale that you see for some time now on the forum. This larger scale takes more space (span of the model is ca 38 cm, but is more accurate in shape, and better detailed than the smaller scales of 1: 100 or even 200.
I took some pictures with the sunny sky as background. (At last, sun after days of rain). Building is the same process that I dscribed earlier with the Douglas DC-7C.

Very nice. Looks good 'in flight'. Sad news though. End of another era.

I love that new livery on the Fokker, it's a shame they're retired know. Great repaint and build!

Wow! I think due to copyrights you can’t share the files right?

Correct Chris. Without the explicit permission of KLM the files can't be shared. Sorry.

Repainting a model for your personal use is not that difficult. There are various ways to do that. If you look up my thread on the building of the DC-7C, I described a few methods.
