Smile Wing construction

Ahoy Paper Wrights

Okay another update rep[ort here hard part is over down hill slide is on its way. Starting with the wings nothing more then the spars and the skins I made some extra wing spars the spars in the kit is way to flimsy so It needs to be more ridged then what the kit offers got both wings on letting the assembly dry and burnish later to smooth out the edges again cant stress anymore be careful when handeling these Geli kits the paper is to thin then the usual if not take heed you will in notice a dent in your skins and they wont come out so be careful. she is now looking like the HUN very shiny kit the extra metal paneling I done really makes it pop a little goes a long ways. Okay here is the update for todayl

Pretty soon you will be flying it around the room making jet noises. All the more amazing because you are also doing the Anson. Can't do that. I am a one at a time guy.

That is one "shiny" build... Does it require special glue?

Smile Under carriage assembly

Ahoy Paper Wrights

another update build report on the HUN Thus far I am getting her legs on the build is coming along swiftly no fit issues thus far, at first when I was attaching the skins I thought I was going to run in to trouble skin No.6 was very tight but I squeezed it in. Okay got the landing gear doors attached next I will construct the oleo struts. Instead of using the kits wheels I found some ideal ones in my spar parts box. tomorrow the landing gear assembly will be completed the fuel tanks and canopy will follow and she done.

Smile Landing gear completed

Ahoy
Okay update for today downhill slide resumes got her legs on with out fuss, I used dowel to give the under carriage strength, I should have the build wrapped up by this Friday I will have her done tomorrow but Friday will be a nice day for some outside pictures. Thus far the build went together like a snap no fit issues at all only when I assembled skin No.6 a tight fit it was. A nice kit these Geli kits are only thing I did not like is the thinnest of paper the finish of the printing is superb. Okay back to the Envoy that to I should have it done by this Saturday. Okay gang here are the pictures.

Landing gear looks nice and strong Boats. She's looking very good indeed. I've noticed you haven't said much about burnishing this model. Is that because of the very thin paper it's printed on?

Ahoy Eliiiot
you hit the nail right on the head the paper in this kit is way to flimsy afraid to apply any pressure on the paper of burnishing a dent in the paper I do a very lite burnish with the but end of a butter knife I am still doing a little tuning up here and there the F100 will be done today and I will post the final reveal stay posted.

Hi Boats, looking really good. How come you didn't spray mount the thin Geli printout
onto another sheet of paper/card to strengthen the model?
I like the shininess of the "aluminum" printout from the company.

Ahoy Jeff
thank you buddy for your reply on the HUN I thought of the same thing I don't have printer friendly I have another kit of this in my stash pile If I ever make another I will follow your suggestion a great kit all Geli kits in general are to thin of paper they fit and goe together very well without the hair pulling and fuss. This kit is so shiny you shave off of it and the metal printing don't come off on your hands when you handle the model. thanks buddy
