Murph's Models DC-2 Dutch Version

I finally finished up the Dutch "Uiver" version of the DC-2. This particular aircraft has been recently rebuilt, and is currently flying. I chose to model it in it's earlier version, with just one pitot tube and a cable VHF antenna. To make the modern version, use two pitot tubes and place a modern style VHF antenna on top of the fuselage. Also a red rotating beacon is located atop the aft fuselage on the modern airplane.

The only error in the kit is the small prop holders that attach between the prop shaft and the propellers. The top round piece is attached to the bottom of the piece. Just snip it off and put it on top where it belongs. I had a bit of trouble getting the wing to fuselage fairing positioned correctly. The left side fitted well, but the right side doesn't fit high enough on the fuselage.

Very good DC-2!.Yours turned out better than mine. I'm having trouble with undercarriage and landing lights on the nose had to be done twice to look half decent.I anticipated wing fairings to be a hair too small so I enlarged them 5%.Still ended up doing one not quite as intended.

I have engines to finish and coat of protective lacquer and I'll post pix.

Look at that! Gorgeous model. That wing fairing issue is only noticeable cos you pointed it out- doesn't detract from the overall look at all.
Full credit to Murph's and your building skills.

Regards, Garry G.

9.5/10 for perfection... I take away 0.5 point because of jealousy (tried to build this kit a while ago and failed multiple times due to stupid build mistakes; I gave up and moved on). Excellent build.
