S&P 1/100 N.A. FJ-3M Fury

I chose Bruno's VF-73 version of the Fury for the purely shallow and superficial reason that it has a pretty blue stripe along the fuselage. Unfortunately that same blue stripe could make or break the finished look of this model- if out of alignment AT ALL the whole thing would just look dumb. So I just made damn sure as I added each fuselage section that it was the stripe that matched above all else. One section at the front needed a bit of a gap on the bottom to work, but otherwise Bruno did a fine designing job and looks pretty good.
The nose intake gave the most grief; no reflection on Bruno though- just the very nature of shapes that I don't think any designer could have made easier to build. Getting it all to work wasn't helped by the bit of lead weight I glued behind the intake to make the model sit on it's nosewheel.
I can't find any pics of the full size where the main gear doors are down when parked. Maybe like the P-51 the wheel doors droop slowly down after a while with hydraulic pressure bleed-off. Can anyone shed light on this? Anyway, if I do another version I'll fix 'em in the 'up' position.
Hope you like.

Beautiful, perfect where you look, those stripes have been perfectly aligned, I really like your model. And your collection grows at an impressive rate. Very well done Garry again. A greeting
Sergio

Well you beat the bugaboo stripe, the nose looks okay from here and your model is neat, clean and free of glue spots. You did a great job Garry.

It may not be an F-100 but it is still a Super Sabre.
