They had 36 of them during the Cuban Missile Crisis. You can read a lot about it in the Butelczynski's link.
Anyway, there wasn't any MiG-15 with one number. To the single numbers they added zeros, for example: 01,04,09.
So, deleting one number would be a "historical error".
