Pilsworth Supermarine Seafire FR.47 in 1/100

The last of the legendary Spitfires- the mighty Griffon powered , contra-prop FR.47. Always wanted a model of this and G.P. has obliged with a 1/48 version which, like my Devon, will be done in 1/100.

Started on wings, which as you can see are rather complex. I guess they have to be, because that elliptical wing has curvature in EVERY direction.
The pics show doublers on the back which I extended out to be the join tabs.
G.P. provides wing ribs to place on that spar which are probably necessary in 1/48, but which I've dispensed with on my little 1/100 version. He also provides built up wheel well parts, but 'cos I'm a lazy so-and-so I've left off; just painting the 'wells' a suitable Interior Green.

Next interesting project!
This might be quite difficult in this scale...

How many paper planes in 1/100 have you got for now, Garry?

Thanks Ofanim.

Kacper, I'm not sure. I'm at work at the moment- when I get home I'll count them and let you know.

Great job thus far my friend. Remember down there the Sky goes on top and the Dark Sea Gray on the bottom!

Thanks all. Gary, it wasn't till I actually downloaded your DH Dragon I that I realised it was VH-UXG 'Riama'- a beautifully restored Australian registered Dragon that was sadly lost (with 6 fatalities) in a 2012 crash returning from an airshow.

Naturally THAT will be my next project!

Got the wings done- and virtually warp-free (I HATE warps). Despite their complexity, they go together without too much hassle. But they needed a number of hours, mainly because I took things VERY slowly. With one piece wings I find starting at the centre and working outwards alternating the same little steps on each side and with constant checking for squareness and no warps. The white bits are where the guns and blisters go.
