Talking about the engine, there is a small roadblock. I've been testing the lighting system circuit before installing it. I was too ambitious trying to power a high-power LED through button cells (the 1025 variety) and could not reach the desired brightness. I will try using 4 in parallel, failing that, will try to use a capacitor cell instead.

Just a quick comment on vacuum forming. Bubbles and milkiness are typically due to moisture absorbed by the plastic from the ambient humidity. Gently heating prior to heating to form may remove the moisture. You will want to experiment or only vacuum form in low humidity conditions.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I am not sure what other factors affect this. I have no idea PVC sheet could perhaps come in different types at all. Will definitely try the moisture point.
What bubbles have you been seeing though? I have experienced nothing like that...

It's erm, from... Taobao, you know, the Chinese eBay. I am pretty sure shipping to the States from Asia is too much of a hassle (and also such an overkill for a few plastic sheets), so I would recommend trying to find something equivalent in the US. There must be many more vacforming experts on the forum so it's worth asking around.
