Need a builder for Ken's X-15 (pre printed model provided free of charge)

OK - I am venturing into new territory and a lot hinges on this in regards to my (and possibly others) future direction.

I am working with an very nice person related to someone here on the forums. He has been in the offset printing industry for about 12 years. He is going to be sending me a proof of kens X-15 printed on a digital offset printer. After I verify the quality myself I need someone to build it.

This person must meet a few requirements:
1. You must have already built kens X-15 or are willing to build it at the same time. I want comparisons of the digital offset print compared to your own printout.
2. You must be willing to put this at the top of your priority list as I need it done in fairly short order. I do not expect you to alter your life to do it just be willing to work on it now
3. You must have built AT LEAST one pre printed kit from a major publisher, the more of these you have built from different publishers the better. Also the more recent the published model the better.
4. I need a build thread done so I can follow how it goes. You must give commentary on various points throughout - good or bad. Think things like paper weight, does it form/cut well compared to other kits. Is it an appropriate weight etc. For the ink does it hold up well to bending or does it tend to flake like laser prints. (dont pre spray the paper as most people prolly dont do that) how does it compare to the home printed kit.

If you are interested please respond here. Just because you are first does not mean you will get it I would like to know your qualifications above please. I will pick the person I want to build this. It is rather important to me as it could amount to a rather sizable investment....
Thanks!
Chris

I don't fit your criteria, but I look forward to seeing how this progresses. I've been waiting for somebody in the US to take the plunge into publishing - I wish you luck and hope it works out

Chris,
Can i just add, the model of the Virgin A340 that i built was printed on A3 card on an offset Digital printer. I'm not sure what the card weight was, but i will find out.The build went together beautifully with a satin like finish to the colours, no flaking or peeling and no need to coat the surface either. All in all i found it excellent to work with, i don't think i'll go back to inkjet.

I can not wait to see the build thread on this! I hope this will lead to a whole new line of goodies you will offer.

I have never built a pre-printed kit before, but if things go well, and you start selling them, I am sure that I will have to try one.

Chris,

I would have offered to do this build (#1: no problem, #3: would more than 20 pre-printed models from Polish publishers and some 50 from Geli be okay?) but I will start a new job next week, therefore #4 would be a problem since I can't say when I'll have (private) access to internet again (this takes rather long in Germany and I'll have my new flat in September ...) and due to a lot of new technology to learn #2 might be a problem, too.

Sorry, this would have been a very interesting task. I hope you will find somebody appropriate and am already curious about the build reports!

regards, Old Rutz

He Chris,
I would be interested...
I'm building it right now, it's about 80% finished
I started a thread about it , but not very detailed, because at that time Ken's original on Zealot was still there..
