Simple yet very effective CMDRTED. Great job on the unusual.

Cmdr,
WHERE do you find this stuff? I will have to check but I don't think this is even in William Green's little books that I always thought had everything. Thanks again for broadening my horizons. Long Live 1/100 Ms

I never saw any picture of the model and the other information (stating the two types of connections of the floats) looked much more like what-if. I could of course be wrong, in which case I stand corrected. nonetheless very nice builds, Ted. Long live 1/100 B |

where do you get this stuff
www.airwar1946.nl/whif/L46-me109w.htm was one source. they are claiming they used an e model. another source and I have to find it said they used an f model. Mike Kroll of Gremir, sadly going out of business, has a fantastic 109w based off the f model in 1/33 scale. they have a brief history of the w model. I trust Mike and his designers so I went with that version.

well we resolved the h version. the w had a good write up in the reference address. the model w by gremir is also available commercially/printed by model kartonowy. I went with the simple strutted f version.

Last of the F model variants
Last of the variants based on the F models is the Z. this was Germanys answer to the twin mustang and perhaps the p38 lightning. the 2 fuselages were joined by a continuous spar. both sets of landing gear were kept and a constant tail stabilizer completed the fuselage. the starboard cockpit was faired over so a single pilot controlled the aircraft. one article I read stated that originally the other cockpit was manned the single pilot model was settled on. several variants were proposed, a bomber recon etc, but I chose the tank buster model with 2 under wing canons in pods.

As I said earlier (and I really don't want to get into a fight) I could be wrong. There seems to be at least the intention to consider a project of studying a W-version. Anyway, like your model series very much. (and again I'm not saying that because they're my designs ) Bruno |

what's next?
As to the 109W we can chalk that model up to "luft '46" or a big "what if."
there are drawings for a proposed me-109 tl model that shows a stream-lined 109 fuselage and what looks to be me 262 wings with Jumo jet engines. only a vague description exists with mention the project offered no advantage over the Me262. Oh those boys at the Messerschmitt plant! anyways well into the series but lost pics that have to come later is the G series. more to come... |

Love the 'Z' CMDRTED. But the real thing wouldn't hold a candle to an F-82.
BTW, this is not the one currently on Ecards is it?
